Women's History Luncheon - 2013

12 Noon at Turner Hall, New Ulm

 Dr. Laurel Gamm will speak at the 26th Annual Women’s History Luncheon  on her service with Doctors Without Borders in the Central African Republic.  The event will be held at noon  Saturday, March 16th at Turner Hall.

For six months, Dr. Gamm worked at the Pediatric Ward of the only hospital in Carnot, a city of 60,000 in the  Central African Republic, one of the least developed countries in the world.  With 8 physicians for every 100,000 people, one out of every five children die before the age of five in the CAR.

The luncheon will honor women who have provided medical services to impoverished and disaster areas of the world.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Laurel Gamm.

The nominees who will honoroed include: Kathy Runck, Diane Lambrecht, Nancy Thomas, Lisa Monroe, Kristin Schweiss, Carol Koeckeritz and Anna Koeckeritz, Dr. Laurel Gamm, Dr. Ellen Vancura, Hazel Mickelson, Marlys Zetah, Monica Mueller and Judy Kastman.

Funds for this year’s luncheon will again be provided by Dan Gislason in memory of his mother, Marjorie Gislason.

Tickets for the luncheon are available by calling  the BCHS at 233-2616 until the 15th of March. Cost of a ticket is $12.
